Here is a great resource for those who love or would like to try an audio tour for the main temples in the so-called small circuit. Published by Tourcaster, the Angkor Wat audio tour can be loaded into your Ipod or other mp3 music player. For only $US 20, you get 53 numbered tracks that correspond to 53 numbered points on five included maps covering the following temples: Angkor Wat, Bayon, Baphoun, some other features inside Angkor Thom and Ta Prohm.

From Tourcaster’s website:

“You’ll hear and learn about:

* Angkor Wat
* Angkor Thom
* Bayon
* Pimeanakas
* Terrace of the elephants / leper king
* Bapuon
* Ta Prohm and others
* Traditional music and sound effects accompany where appropriate
* Six separate maps are provided along with detailed instructions

Temples of Angkor Audio Tour is presented by noted archaelogist and scholar Professor Charles Higham, author of several books, including “The Origins of the Civilization of Angkor”. The tour presents a comprehensive description and analysis of the incredible monuments of Angkor, Cambodia built between the 9th and 14th centuries AD. The tour includes many of the main monuments in the archaeological park and can be used as an introductory day tour.”

I have purchased it and listened to parts of it. I will certainly take it with me on my next trip to Angkor Wat. Oh, it only costs $US 20.
