Update To Angkor Wat Night Tour
Last month I posted about the new night tour of Angkor Wat. It wasn’t clear to me if it had already opened or not. Well, it officially opens on February 9 and here is a nice post from the folks at Journeys Within – owners Andrea and Brandon Ross, with their two charming kids in tow, got to check out a preview:
This evening we were invited to a preview of the Angkor Wat Night Tour, a chance to visit Angkor Wat after the crowds have left with strategic lighting allowing for an amazing perspective. On February 9 the Angkor Wat Night Tour will officially begin, featuring dancers, performers and other ‘shows’ as you wander along a designated path through the temple. Tonight, the performers were rehearsing, but Brandon, the kids and I got an inside look at what will be on offer in February. The temple looks beautiful and it is a magical experience to see the stars above the Angkor Wat spires. It is also a nice change to be able to wander the halls of Angkor Wat without sweating profusely.
Andrea says she will go back after February 9th to see if the show lives up to the promise shown in their preview tour. You can book tickets through Journeys Within for the shows from February 9 or for one of the preview nights that will be held before then.

Thanks Leonard! It was a great night, lets jsut hope they don’t let the tour buses overrun the place! I also didn’t mention, we had a fun local dinner of barbecued chicken at one of the local restaurants in front of Angkor Wat, it was delicious!

Are the night tours still operating in 2012? I could not find a site that offered this.
