New flight service Singapore – Siem Reap – Phnom Penh

With the non-stop growth in tourism to Cambodia, one of Asia’s young low-cost airlines has announced new service to Phnom Penh and Siem Reap starting July 28 from their Asian hib Singapore. According to e-Travel Blackboard:

“Visiting Cambodia’s two major cities of Siem Reap and Phnom Penh will soon be more affordable and enjoyable. Starting 28 July 2008, Jetstar Asia passengers flying to Cambodia can enjoy stopovers in the historical city of Siem Reap besides traveling on direct flights to Phnom Penh.

“With the new flight schedule, Jetstar Asia passengers will be able to fly to Phnom Penh daily, either with four non-stop flights weekly or via Siem Reap thrice weekly on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. The stopover flights to Siem Reap will also provide travelers departing from Singapore the option of flying between Siem Reap and Phnom Penh.”

I just checked it out and could have booked a flight between Singapore (a hub I sometimes like to fly through if I am not traveling specifically to Kuala Lumpur) and Siem Reap for € 37 each way which is a very good price.
